Sunset Beach Amenities
Boat Launch
Sunset Beach owners get exclusive access to our boat launch and dock system, nestled in the protected inlet of Dog Leg Coulee. We have invested in a key fob system for ease of use of the boat launch. The boat launch is not open to the public, allowing for quick and easy access to Lake Diefenbaker. There is a parking area adjacent to the boat launch to park your trailer for the day while enjoying the lake.
Accessible Beach Ramp
Beach access is a breeze at Sunset Beach with our accessible beach ramp! It ensures that everyone can easily access and enjoy the beach and shoreline of Lake Diefenbaker.
A parking area for golf carts, quads, wagons, and strollers is available just north of the beach ramp. Park and walk across the road down the fence-lined Municipal Reserve to reach the beach. A bike rack has also been added to complement the area.
All Terrain Wheelchair
Sunset Beach has an all terrain wheelchair that can be used on the beach as well as the trails. There are 2 sets of wheels that can easily be swapped out depending where you intend to use the chair.
To access the chair, please contact Shelley at 306-231-4895 for instructions.
Legacy Park & Playground
This beautiful, central attraction features a zip line, jungle gym, slides, and swings. It also has interactive signs and a family area with benches, picnic tables, and a Little Free Library, where you can donate and exchange books and DVDs with the community.
We also added a storage box with various outdoor games and activities.
In 2024, additional playground components were added including a double basket swing and chess/checkers table.
Community Fire Pit Area
Our new community fire pit area includes a fire pit, 8 chairs, accessible picnic table, and a small games table, great for chess or checkers.
This is a great addition to our central Legacy Park & Playground.
Sport Court
In 2024, we have added a sport court! Fun for all ages & abilities!
Practice your pickleball skills or shoot some hoops! This sport court is a great addition to Sunset Beach and is located near the public washroom and trail parking area.
Recreational Trails
Sunset Beach has approx. 3.5 km of recreational trails for non-motorized traffic. The trails offer spectacular views of Lake Diefenbaker. A trailhead kiosk near the public washroom and sport court shows a full map of the trails.
There are scenic rest points and beach access points. Interpretive signs along the trails feature information about the local plants, animals, and history of Lake Diefenbaker and the area.
The trails have a packed aggregate surface, making them great for walking, running, biking, strollers, wagons, snowshoes, and cross country skiing. (Note: the trails are not maintained during the winter season).
Non-Potable Water Well
As a property owner at Sunset Beach, you have the option to use the non-potable water well for landscaping purposes.
The well operates on a key-fob system to ensure seamless operation.
